Windows picture and fax viewer

I am a new user and have recently purchased a Dell 8300
Dimension Computer, with Windows XP "Home Edition"
operating system.

Some how, I've managed to delete the Windows Picture and
Fax Viewer. Can I resinstall this program from my
operating CD. I could not locate these files in the
recycle bin to recover them. Are there any other options?

Click START button|RUN and type this in...

regsvr32 /shimgvw.dll <enter>

See if that makes a difference.
 
The Windows Picture and Fax viewer is NOT a program. It's a .dll file,
shimgvw.dll. If it has been disabled:

Click your Start button, click Run,

type: regsvr32 shimgvw.dll

Click the OK button.

Reboot your system, and see if that fixes the problem.
