Previously, I have a post on the slow response on the right click menu. I
have disable all the contect handler but still doesn't help. It still very
slow.
And then, I try to open a jpg file, it has a slow response too.
I think it might be the resaon of my right click slow response.
Is there any way to solve or reinstall the photo and fax viewer?

thanks in advance

Run full anti virus and anti spyware scans using up to date programs and
definitions. Don't assume your system is clean. Are you running any McAfee
software? Norton Antivirus 2004 also caused major slowdowns cause of its
excessive scanning. Remove all McAfee software and the Norton product
mentioned if running that. Clean boot the system using msconfig and try
opening the files that are slow and see if there is any difference. If they
open fine you should be able to figure out what caused the slowdown. If it
was one of the programs you disabled via msconfig re-enable them a few at a
time until you find the one causing the problem. If it was McAfee or Norton
it should be obvious.

If the PaF viewer is not working do start | run | "regsvr32 shimgvw.dll" no
quotes and it will re-register the dll.

I been looking into slow response of PaF viewer and there seems to be an
issue where there is a shortcut pointing to an unavailable location in the
same folder as the picture you are trying to preview. If you have a picture
which is slow loading move it to a folder with no other pictures or
shortcuts or folders and see if it opens. If it now opens without the lag
you should be able to track down the cause.
