"Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be
corrupted or missing. (Code 39)

Click Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooter for this device."

I've tried unsinstalling them and when I startup the New hardware wizard
pops up but it seems like it doesn't have drivers, and I can't update them
with the device manager. I am 99% sure it isn't a hardware issue because it
seems a bit strange that Both drives (and one vitural DVD-ROM drive) would go
out all at once. I've tried updating the firmware from HP and nothing, i've
also tried unplugging the drives from the motheboard, still nothing. Any
ideas?

At a guess,

"CD-ROM Access Is Missing and Messages Cite Error Code 31, Code 32, Code 19,
or Code 39 After You Remove Easy CD Creator in Windows XP"

I believe that there are other ways than uninstalling Easy CD Creator to get
the same bad registry keys in place.

If you don't care to manually edit the Registry, there are automated
solutions:
