As soon as I boot up the error message Windows- no disk appears, saying
"there is no disk in drive, please try again. But I cannot cancel or
continue, and have to operate with the message present- i have no idea what
it means or how to solve it.
I did look at the error log which shows that The device, CdROm0 has a bad
block. What does that mean?

Try going to run, type:regedit In regedit expand:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/current
version/microsoft/windows/then open set up.Make sure the letters for the
cdrom
are the same as listed in my computer. If not,L.click on it,then go to
edit,modify,
change the letter.Once thru, close out regedit.

Replace the optical drive. LASERs do fail.
