I've got XP Home and I connect to two networks (home and work) where we use peer-to-peer networking. TCP/IP is working fine (I can ping specific IP addresses, and addresses defined by DNS), but at work I can't see the other machines on my local subnet through Windows networking and at home I can see the other machines, but when I print I get an error about the printer (however, the print job does eventually print)

I had NetBUEI installed, but I uninstalled that. I had VMWare installed, but I uninstalled that. Everything is configured using DHCP at both home and work. I've turned off ICF and other stuff like that, but now I'm stumped

Any ideas or references to articles that will help me debug this would be great.

Your Tcp/Ip settings in properties, advanced, wins, must
be set to enable netbios of tcp/ip. You can try the
default one or use the straight netbios over tcp/ip
setting. Good luck....
