How do I prevent Windows Messenger from loading during
Windows startup? The icon is always displayed in the
notification area of the taskbar, even though I never use
it.

Thanks for the link. I used the messenger.msn.com link,
went to help, and it said to uncheck the "run this program
while window starts". This looks like it worked here at
the office on a XP Pro machine, I'll have to try this on
my XP home machine back at the house to see if it's the
same.

Windows Messenger and MSN Messenger are *not* the same application.

Disabling either can have adverse effects on Outlook Express (slow to load)
if used.[/QUOTE]

I didn't know that. I basically just didn't want to wait
for Windows Messenger to load during bootup. I currently
don't use Outlook Express, just Juno and yahoo email
services. So, is it alright that I unchecked the box so
that it won't load during startup?
