Windows Messenger

I have just had to re-install Windows XP Home Edition and
whenever I start Windows Messenger and try to read any
mail it tells me I need an add in. When I go to the site
from the link it downloads MSN Messenger 6. This means I
end up with MSN Messenger and Windows Messenger. I want
to know how can I update Windows Messenger without
downloading MSN Messenger 6

I have a notion (not using either!) that MSN Messenger IS the update to
Windows Messenger.

I did, they are totally different programs, and you're still a gormless pilock.
