Hi,
Ive been having problems with my PC ever since ive had it.
Intermitently. Most things run fine except Unreal2 which
always crashes.
Anyway, upon rebooting last time the Windows Crash
Analysis page eventualy came up and advised to run the
Memory Testing Tool.
<http://oca.microsoft.com/en/windiag.asp>
So ive ran it, and it crashes on Test2 - INVC.
Half way through test2 the pc freezes and a number appears
in the progress bar; "872415225;25H"
Ive swapped a 512MB Dimm for another (that was shipped
with this PC, I had to remove one because things keep
crashing with 1Gig of ram)
And the PC crashes at the same point in the Memory Tester,
with the same error/number. This seems strange that BOTH
dimms would have Exactly the same fault.
Anybody got and clues what those numbers mean ?

Hope to hear from somebody....anybody..
Thanks.

I am having a similar problem with two different 512mb
dimms showing errors in the ERAND test phase of this
memory test. I am looking for the same answer that you
are. I hope someone can help us out.

Get a second opinion on that RAM.

Get DocMemory (free) from www.simmtester.com and use it to test the
RAM.

If it also reports a problem then you almost certainly have one.

However it is highly unlikely that two RAM modules would have an
identical defect, except through a design flaw and then the whole
batch would probably be recalled by the manufacturer.

So if DocMemory also finds errors then the prime suspect has to be the
RAM module sockets on the motherboard. Inspect these visually and
see if any of the contact strips appear different in any way from
those adjacent to them. It could be that a damaged memory module
socket is causing the problem. At that point this becomes a matter
for a computer repair shop.

Good luck
