Jessica,

See Tip #13 here:

<quote>
"If WMP is launching at the start-up of your system, this is likely because 3rd party trojan spamware has infected your system. "iedll.exe" for some reasons registers WMP to launch on system start-up - possibly to cover it's own tracks? Regardless, get and run the (free) LavaSoft AdAware anti-spyware software (or SpyBot anti-spy software, or the dedicated CoolWebSearch/iedll.exe killer program), which will clean up iedll.exe."

Go to Start/Run - enter msconfig and hit enter.

Along the top you'll see tabs and one of them will say START UP, click on
this.

Now you'll see a list of things that might not make any sense.

Look for one that says wmplayer.exe or wmp.exe and if there's a tick next to
it, in a box, untick it, click apply, then ok and then restart your computer.

On reboot, you'll get a message about system configuration, tick the box and
click ok.

(off the top of my head here)
