Windows media player 9 for xp error

I had a power outage and since then I have had problems
with media player 9.0. I get this error message and the
error code C00D2712. If I try to reinstall it it tells me
that it cannot complete that task and to contact product
support. I also got this message as well.

License storage is not working. Contact Microsoft product
support.

Has anyone seen this before?

Sounds like a job for system restore. Roll back your installation to beore
you had thses problems.
