Windows ME to Windows XP

We have a family computer with Windows ME and a laptop
with XP. There appears to be some programmes that are
loaded easily onto the laptop but will not go onto ME. Can
we use the back up disc for the XP stuff and load into on
the family computer and how do we do this?

What programs won't load into ME that work in XP? Maybe there's a problem
with your family system that's running ME (wouldn't suprise me as ME was
just about the worst OS Microsoft put on the market.
