Hello, does anyone know if there is a way to set it up so that attachments in
Windows ail will open every time? I always have to go in and choose what
program I want it to open with and I don't always know. I never had this
problem with Outlook?
Thanx everyone

First, are you able to save the attachments, and then can you open
that saved document by double-clicking on it? If the saved attachment
does not open outside of Windows Mail, then you need to make sure
you have the correct program installed for that file type.
If saved attachments do open correctly outside of Windows Mail,
but can't be opened inside of Windows Mail, make a note of which
file type you have that problem with, .DOC, .XLS, .PPS, etc.
Let us know, so we can provide you with the correct fixes.

Thank you. I wil keep track of ones that don't open and get back to you. I
tried to save the last One I received, and was able to. It did not open by
double clicking, I had to choose the program to open it in? thank you, I
will save this and reply back when I have some info on the ones that don't
open?

Thank you

Once you choose the program to open a given file type, it should
open automatically next time.

OK, I just received an email with an attachment that says the type is a DAT
file? I've also had trouble opening powerpoint attachments. Awhile back,
after searchign for over an hour, I was able to find some info that helped me
open it, but then the next one I received wouldn't open again.
Thank you for your help

Windows Mail cannot open .DAT attachments.
Have you asked the sender what that attachment is supposed to be?
If the sender is using Microsoft Outlook, have him resend using plain text.
