I am having a hard time setting up Windows Mail. I've just learned that I
cannot use an aol or gmail email account what type of account do I need?
Please help

For an AOL account:

For Gmail:

These Gmail instructions cover both the IMAP and the POP
methods of connecting. Choose one, and don't get them mixed
up.
 
You heard wrong. Both AOL and Gmail accounts work fine in
Windows Mail. I see that Robert already gave you the information
links. Let us know if you need additional help.
