all is well with my puta, vista is, well, ok, but i have a problem which is
starting to annoy me. I can open any links that i receive in my windows
mail. The email look fine and the settings look find. The email comes in
with the link underlined and highlighted but it wont open. Can anyone help,
have i missed a setting.

To correct the problem, go to Default Programs, which you
can reach either from the Start menu or the Control Panel,
then click the first item: "Set your default programs."
After a few seconds a list of programs comes up.
Click on Windows Mail. To the right you should then see
"This program has all its defaults."
If it has less than all of its defaults, fix it by selecting one
of the two options indicated by green arrows.

My Friend, this did the trick. I was at a loss of what i was doing wrong, i
had checked all settings and couldnt work out what was going on.
Thank you for your, very easy to understand, directions.

Sorry for my bad typing in my first post, just had left and right
hand operated on, i re-read it and was amazed you understood what
i was saying.

Thanks again, to all in Vista, go forth and learn

Problem solved.....

Hi Gary,

I am kind of having the same problem as darryll. Except I do a lot of
emails and I get the same complaint when I send my emails out with links. the
links don't work!!! I can send the same email to a different email address of
mine and it opens fine but for some reason it doesn't appear to be working
when I send them out to others. I went in and did your little fix but mine
already said that it has all defaults. Do you have any idea why it isn't
working?

Thanks

That one worked for me, and took me to:

What web browser are you using? It may not be set as the program used
to do some of the things it was meant to do.

Also, you may be sending to people who don't have their web browsers
set up properly, or don't know how to fill in incomplete web links like
yours.

Note that links aren't supposed to work in the new message window of
Windows Mail, to avoid problems with trying to edit them.

It's a problem on their machine unless you're using HTML in the mail.
They'll have to use copy and paste until they correct the problem, probably
by making IE the default browser.

I can't get Outlook or Microsoft to transfer message email from my web site
to either of these?
When I set up my account under add, etc everything is fine and then it goes
into uploading files for me,...but it stays doing that for ever... and I have
to stop it.

Any ideas on this

Joe
