Windows Mail Taking Ages To Open

Over the last few months, I've noticed Windows Mail takes longer and longer
to get to a stage where I can see my mail. From hitting the desktop shortcut
to actually being able to get at my mail can take anything up to two
minutes. Once the program opens, it's fine-it runs perfectly. Any idea what
might be causing this?
