Windows Mail (stops responding)

I've been using Microsoft Mail for about a year with no problems. Recently
while composing email with stationery, the application stops responding
(greys out) and I loose the email. After I restart Windows Mail, it works
fine again but I lost what I'd been composing and have to start over.
 
Which antivirus are you using? Some of them are not very compatible
with Windows Mail, and will cause assorted problems to appear over time.
 
Hard to say what may be causing that symptom.
I would upgrade to Windows Live Mail:

Windows Mail has been deprecated in favor of Windows Live Mail
some 19 months already. It will become less and less compatible
as time goes on.

I doubt that Vista's SP2 would be any help, but it can't hurt to try.
