What is the deal with this stupid program? Is there another program that is
safe to use with Vista besides this one? How the heck (and trust me that is
so not what I want to say) do you add or manage contacts in this program? I
went in to the help section...what a joke that is it ...I asked it how to add
contacts this is what I got.... Click to open Windows Contacts. So I did I
then got a window that looks exactly like the window for my computer and
those types, there was NOT the window of that the example picture
showed...the only time that window comes up is when I click on one of the 3
contacts I already have and I have no idea how I managed to get those in
there in the first place. There is no "tools" option in the window the help
section brought up there is nothing that says new contact. I have had
nothing but headaches since I got this stupid Vista program and I did not
upgrade I needed a new computer and it was already standard with new ones.
Is there anyone who can actually help me with this unbelievably irritating
issue/program? Thank you in advance to anyone who can.

I can't make sense of the new version of my "address book." When I click
"contacts" I want them arranged, last name first, as they used to be. As
I've tried to figure this out it gives me alphabetical by FIRST name, and
all kinds of other orders, except the last name first order. None of the
options seems to let me set this up the way it works for me. Help anyone?

Your Contacts folder has apparently switched from it's proper default
template.
Open Contacts
Right-click on a blank area of the right pane, and select "Customize this
folder"
in the pull-down box, select "Contacts"
ok

In Vista, if you don't see the File - Edit - View - etc. menu bar, just
press the Alt key.

The newer Windows Live Mail is better, but it handles contacts the same way.

In the Contacts folder?
Change the View to Details.
Right-click on the Name column heading, click on First Name, then click on
Last Name
Click on the Last Name heading to sort by that, or click on First Name
heading to sort by that.

Or in a Create Mail window?
Click on To:
Click on the Name column heading... it cycles thru 4 different sorts

This happens if the folder type template for the Contacts folder is
incorrect. To fix the problem, use these steps:

Open the Contacts folder. Right-click on a blank area in the folder, and
choose Customize This Folder... In the folder type drop down box, select
Contacts and click OK.
