Thanks. Yes, we are talking about the same thing. I have my email on
Windows Mail. No one is playing a trick on me. I open Windows Mail
and the
messages download. It will state that there are five messages in my
inbox or
junk folder and when I have deleted them, the number five remains until
I
close Windows Mail and reopen it. Also, my user icon is not in my
contacts,
even though I have that box checked for it to be. Whe I shut down the
computer, I get an error message saying that Windows Mail has a prolem,
which
I have to click ok before the computer shuts down.
I am new here, because I have never had a problem before. I bought my
computer with the operating system already installed.

First, let's make sure we're talking about the same mail program. (I
noticed
you haven't posted here before.) This group is not for "Windows Live
Mail"
nor for "Windows Live Hotmail". It's for Windows Mail (formerly
Outlook
Express). Keep in mind that Windows Mail doesn't "say" you have
emails.
You know you have them after you download them (usually automatically
when
Windows Mail is opened if that's how your preferences are set) because
they
appear in your inbox or junk folder at the same time that the system
tray
icon appears. So just to be clear, are you saying that the tray icon
comes
on after downloading but there is nothing in any of your folders?
(It's
possible someone could be playing a trick on you by setting up your
message
rules to delete all messages.) A more likely possibility is that
you're
viewing your mail messages on the web (as instructed by your mail
service
provider or by Microsoft for Hotmail) and have not yet downloaded them
via
Windows Mail. However, the word "sometimes" appearing twice in your
message
could mean there is a real problem with Windows Mail that I haven't
seen
before. Unfortunately, I could find no way to uninstall and reinstall
Windows Mail on Vista. It comes with Vista as does Internet Explorer.
Perhaps you could discuss the issue with the person who put Vista on
your
computer in the first place.
I need help. I have just started to use Windows Mail and ma having
problems
with it. Sometimes it says that I have emails in my inbox and junk
folder
and I don't. When I have deleted emails it shows them as still
being in
the
folders where I deleted them from and they aren't. Also, in my
contacts,
I
have it checked that my user picture shows my contact details, but
it
doesn't. Someimtes when I shut down the computer, it says that
there is a
problem with Windows Mail. I don't have either Norton or McAfee on
my
computer, but AVG.
Any advice?
