I have windows mail all properly installed. Yet when attempting to send a
message from a web site, I am able to format the letter, but can't find the
send button. I have found that in order to do so I must be on Outlook Mail.
this is contary to vista system and Microsoft in that one should be able to
use windows mail in the same way as outlook mail. has anyone got any
suggestions.

Thank You.

WM doesn't use Simple MAPI AFAIK....one answer is to use Mozilla
Thunderbird, which does....

If you have Outlook 2007 installed it will set itself as the default mail
handler.
You can reset the default mail handler in Internet Options, however it will
be reset to outlook whenever Office is updated.
And no its not contary to Vista system, its an Office/Outlook issue

Outlook includes a feature called MAPI handler.
Windows Mail doesn't have that. You would need to install Outlook if
you want to send mail in that fashion. Otherwise, just use copy & paste.

Mozilla Thunderbird has MAPI......no need for Outlook... ;-)

Understood, but I can't very well recommend a third party solution
unless I have personal knowledge that it does the job. I have
three different MS mail clients installed, and I don't need the
aggravation of a fourth email program. :-)
