I am having the same problem, I was on the chat with Dell for 1 hour and
they indicated that this a 3rd Party Issue. I can't receive or send any
email? I configured the SMTP to the correct information. My company is usin
webmail for outlook, but since this is not outlook, the SMTP can't be
configured according to Dell. Now I have to call DELL on Call to be able to
pay them for something that should be working already. I didn't request to
have this new email, I wanted Outlook but when I configured this laptop
online it didn't give me the choice and I had to order before I left out of
country...

Any ideas would be most appreciated. I need to have email working correctly
on my laptop before Wednesday next week as I have to configure my phone with
my database and outlook... so far nothing is working, and I called my
offices again to make sure it was not done incorrectly.

The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be
correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this
problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Mail", and read the
"I'm having problems sending e-mail" section. If you need help determining
the proper server settings, please contact your e-mail service provider.

550 errors mean either you're attempting to use a sending (SMTP) server that
your ISP doesn't own and operate, or you have an authentication (name,
password, "My server requires authentication") setting that's incorrect.

When I send a message I get it returned with a message from System
Administrator:
"550 #5.1.0 Address rejected"
"553 Sorry, that domain isn't in my list of allowed rcpthosts"
"Relaying prohibited"

How do I fix this?

First, you should turn on the spell checker in your Windows Mail.

I see you posted with a Yahoo email address. Is that your
only email address? US-based free Yahoo accounts have webmail
access only, no POP access. Windows Mail handles POP mail but not
webmail. There are two Yahoo solutions:

1. How did you access Yahoo mail before? If you are happy with
webmail via your browser, you can continue to use that.

2. Pay Yahoo to get their premium "Mail Plus" service:
http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/original/mailplus/overview/index.html
and use the special settings for that service:
http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/original/mailplus/pop/pop-14.html

If you are OK with using a non-Yahoo email address, you have three other
solutions:
* Use the email address assigned to you by your ISP.
* Get a free Gmail account.
* Get a free Hotmail/Live account, and use it with the Windows Live Mail email program.

If RBS Worldpay is your employer, you need to contact your IT expert at
that company. We are not able to confirm correct email settings for
private companies.

One thing you might try:
Go to Tools, Accounts, select that account, Properties, Servers.
The box for "My server requires authentication" should be checked
for most mail servers.
