We have two accounts set up and I am the default. My husband has emails that
he needs to copy and save to an outside source, but we can't figure out how
to do it. On my side, I can copy folders by following a path back to Windows
mail. Path starts with C:\Users\User\AppData-Local\Microsoft\WindowsMail
etc. etc.
On his side of the computer there is no AppData folder under User or
anywhere else that I can see. We have created a folder in Windows Mail with
all of the emails he needs to save, Vista Windows Mail will not allow us to
save the folder anywhere else.
Any suggestions?

Hi

You could open your husbands account and then go "Tools", "Options",
Advanced", "Maintenance" and "Store folder". Change the folder to a
location of your choice. Close down Windows Mail, and the restart to
complete the transfer of files.

From there it should be easy to copy over any mail folders you wish.

The appdata folder is normally hidden. When your husband logs in, have him
open Windows Explorer and go to Organize/Search and Folder Options/View Tab.
Select to show hidden files and folders. Restart windows explorer to see the
change.

Expand the Windows Mail/Local Folders and you should see the folders he
created there.

I followed the path you suggested and that got me almost there. When I got
to 'Store Location' and hit 'change' to go to E: for storage the OK button
highlight turned off and would not let me past that point. I have turned off
the computer a few times since and it still does not let me store to E drive.
Thanks anyway. Why does Vista make things so hard?
