I´ve imported via Easy Transfer, WinXPSP2 Outlook Express Mail and Contacts.
Even with AutoComplete enabled, it does not work
Why? What´s happening?

takes using a contact several times for it to work. and you need to use 3 characters from the name.

Autocomplete works for about three days in Windows Mail, then you lose it.
It's a big problem for me; how can this problem be solved?

AutoComplete in WinMail only stores the 25 (or so) most recent addresses you
sent to.

Lot of discussion on this issue - and I agree it's a pain in the neck.
Outlook Express handled autocomplete very well. Don't understand why
Microsoft changed, but they did. I see where it does autocomplete once
you've sent to an addressee. Have not had the machine long enough to check
if there's a time factor (the autocomplete contact gets erased after "x"
number of days). Has anyone experienced any other mail client under Vista
(free one)?

It appears to work once you've used that address in an email, but there
appears to be a time limit. That is, even if you've used the address, after
x number of days (my guess is 10) it disappears from the autocomplete.

No question - it's poor compared to Outlook Express (and I hope MS people
are monitoring this and reading the disgust).

Is that to 29 different contacts or the last 29 sent mails? Is
Windows Live mail free for Vista users? I access the internet and
email from a national ISP on dial up. When I go on to the internet, I
click on the ISP's website which chooses form several dial up numbers
and connects. Once connected, I click on the email button and then my
mail is downloaded from their servers into Windows mail. Due to doing
a lot of traveling, I have not set up any dial up accounts in windows
mail and just let the ISP do it. How will Windows Live mail integrate
into this system? Will there be a lot on configuring to do?

Thanks

Windows Mail and Windows Live Mail by default use whatever
Internet connection Internet Explorer uses.

You should not have to do any configuring.
Windows Live Mail will automatically import all accounts, settings,
folders and saved email from Windows Mail. You may have to tell
it to import contacts, but that is easily done. It is free.
Also, if it turns out you don't like it, simply uninstall, and
Windows Mail will be back.

I think it's 29 different contacts but I'm not sure.
Unless you have changed the defaults and told it to always use a particular
connection it does not care how you connect.

A mí me pasa lo mismo.
El autocpmpeltar no funciona. Con el OE era una maravilla
¿alguien sabe qué es lo que pasa?
It happens the same in my computer. Autocomplete doesn´t work (just for few
adresses), even if it is enabled.. With my OE I was very satisfied! A
disaster this WM!
Can anybody help me, please? It is a lot of time waste.
