Have set up windows live.com.au as email address as wireless provider does
not have email server, thought it would be easy but tried many variations
but cannot figure out pop3 or smtp server address, no use contacting
provider as it is windows (ie hotmail account) any clues?

Hi I have sprint do you happen to know if they support windows vista mail?
And if so do you have the pop and smtp info or would i have to call sprint
to get it? Thanks

That's sort of like asking, does Interstate 80 support the driving of cars on it?
Sprint is just a carrier, they don't care which mail provider you use.

But there are other considerations that come into play.
I see you posted with a Yahoo email address. Is that your
only email address? US-based free Yahoo accounts have webmail access
only, no POP access. Windows Mail handles POP mail but not Yahoo webmail.
Yahoo's solution is to pay for premium "Mail Plus" service:

and use the special settings for that service:
http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/original/mailplus/pop/pop-14.html

If you are OK with using a non-Yahoo email address, you have these other
solutions that will work with Windows Mail:
* Use the email address assigned to you by your ISP.
* Use a free Gmail, AOL, or Hotmail/Live account.

Microsoft recently enabled POP access for free Hotmail/Live accounts.
Follow the settings given here:

Use port 587 rather than port 25 for the SMTP server.

Although it accepts the newer Live.com addresses, Windows Mail's
account setup wizard is hard-coded to reject Hotmail and MSN addresses.
So, when you enter your Hotmail/MSN email address initially, use a fake
one, such as (e-mail address removed). After the account setup is complete,
go back and correct your email address.
