Tried twice to run windows live beta full scans, after 7 hours running it was
still at 40% thru virus scan part- whats the hang up ?Why taking so long to
complete?
 
How much data is on your drive(s) ? Size and file count. Also, are
you certain the disk itself is marked "Clean". Any inconsistencies on
the drive would most likely effect Scanning tools.

To check a drive's status
Click Start, Run (Type) Cmd [Enter]

Note the results in the command prompt window - if issues are found
the Read-Only Chkdsk will recommend a more comprehensive /F or
/R to resolve the issues. Chkdsk /F or /R can remove data in the course
of fixing issues. Always have data backed up before doing a Chkdsk
with either qualifier.
