Windows Installer?

I do not know why, but all of a sudden when I go to use my ALL IN ONE
printer, (and a few other programs I use) it stops printing mid way through
because of a windows installer that pops up asking me to insert some CD for a
program I have never even installed, let alone heard of. Is there a way to
disable this pop up from occuring? It's irritating to say the least.
Thanks in advance for any support given.

What program is the installer prompt referencing?

Hi Rock..
It says: "The feature you are trying to use is on a CD-ROM or other
removable disk that is not available.
Insert the "MarketResearch" disk and click ok.

Hmmm, sounds fishy, maybe associated with some sort of adware or malware?
I'm assuming there is no reference to anything like that in Add/Remove
programs?

One thing to try, is to run the Windows Installer Clean up Utility. Run
that and look for a reference to Market Research. If it's there, which I
doubt, remove it.

Thank you so much for this info. I'll give it a go and see what happens.
Hoepfully I'll find it and kick it to the curb!
Many thanks!

Hi Again Rock......
Your name says it all...YOU ROCK!
Thank you so much. Believe it or not, the Market Research thing WAS in the
list in Windows Utility clean up. I removed it...tested a print page and Waaa
Laaa...NO Windows Installer Pop Up.
Again...thank you so much.

Apeke,

Using the wWindows Installer Clean Up utility means that any entry deleted
from there will need to be totally re-installed

Best thing you can do is insert the CD if you have it & let it find the MSI
that it seeks. A few seconds later all will be resolved & you won't have to
do it again

Hmmm..so the obvious question is where did it come from? Make sure you do a
thorough check for malware.
