I have several programs that when I click on the exe file
instead of the program running, windows installer pops up
and says " the feature you are trying to use is on a cd-
rom or other removable disk that is not available insert
the 'MSRedist' disk ". After clicking cancel it pops up
again, it does this 4 times and then the program will
finally open and run okay. It does this with several
different programs. I tried changing the compatability of
the programs and reinstalling, but it still does this.
Any ideas on what causes this or how to fix, Thanks!

Hi Mike,

Do you have any Symantec products installed or that previously attempted to
install? If so, try reinstalling them again.

Hi

See "Every time I launch my application, Windows Installer performs an
installation. How can I determine the cause of the on-demand installation?" in
the FAQ at

http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/community/centers/management/msi_faq.mspx

To access the Application Log in the Event viewer,
run the following command from Start/Run:

eventvwr.msc
