Windows Installer Problem! Please help me!!

I have had a problem installing Acrobat reader 6.01 onto my computer. There's an error message that says "The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. This can occur if you are running Windows in safe mode, or if the Windows Installer is not correctly installed. Contact your support personnel for assistance." Please help me because I desperately need Adobe Acrobat Reader.
 
Sophie, try Acrobat 5.5.
