Hi, you may want to go to this website and try using cw shredder and hijack
this. The website is http://aumha.org/free.htm. CWShredder is safe to use
and gets rid of some issues Just click on Fix. Hijack-this is a program to
use with caution as it will allow to delete good and bad entries, but it
gives you full information about what you are looking at and identifies all
things that affect IE. Carefully examine the R0 and R1 entries when you scan
with Hijack this for items that are hijacking your browser.

Try this,

I have the exact same problem, I just appeared to have fixed it
(fingers crossed) I went to "tools" amd found a thing called "Manage
add-ons..." when I clicked there I got a bunch of things listed. I
highlighted the ones that were unverified and at the bottom I clicked
disable. There were a bunch in there and I removed all the goofy
looking unverified ones.
Then I went to "tools" "Internet options" and then clicked on
"connections" and then I added a "connect to the internet via
broadband" connection (there was not any connection in the white box in
there before and the options to never dial a connection etc were greyed
out) and then I started IE a few times and then removed the connection
as It wanted a password. The problem went away after that.
I had already updated and scanned with norton 2002 without finding a
virus and spybot didn't fix this though it fixed some other things.
Hope it works for you.

I couldnt find the Manage add-ons under tools..... Also i connect to a modem
with another computer hooked up. Dunno if that changes anything.
