Hi,
Problem, I upgraded from Windows ME to Windows XP Home
Edition which included SP1in the upgrade.
While the File Protector, I thought, would prevent
digitally signed files from being replaced with unsigned
ones, I was not so fortunate. It allowed the replacment
of my digitally signed files and then when it was ready
the File Protector yelled at me: Oh by the way, insert
SP1 CD your digitally signed system files have been
replaced by unrecognized files, you ned to replace them!
Well, there is my problem, see I don't have a SP1 cd and
when I tried to use the Windows upgrade program it
plainly told me that I was not using the correct disc.
Needless to say there is not an SP1 anywhere available
for inmmediate download because of the VM being taken
out, there is only SP1a, how nice! This "novice" needs
some help, Please, anyone?
Thank You,
Cherokee Heart

Go to run,type:SigVerif
Run the utility to let xp find unsigned drivers,if any

the xp menu page, when the bar graph is finished, remove
xp cd,type:CHKDSK C: /F C: being the hd,it should ask
