Windows File Protection Message

After formating my disk and installing XP Pro I received
the following message.

"Files that are required for Windows to run properly have
been replaced by unrecognized versions. To maintain
system stability Window must restore the original version
of these files. Insert your Windows XP Pro CD now."

Inserting the CD allows me to operate but does not
restore files. The message keeps coming up and requires
the CD to boot?

Once up and running, and with the CD in place still, go to Start - Run
and run the line

SFC /SCANNOW
