How do I get windows explorer to display a different folder other than My
Documents upon start up.

Hi

Go to Programs>Accessories, right click on the Windows Explorer icon, select
Properties and type or copy/paste the following into the 'Target:' box to
open WE with the C drive expanded:

%SystemRoot%\explorer.exe /e,c:

A new Desktop shortcut for WE can be created with the same command.

Also have a look at the following article:

"Windows Explorer Command-Line Options"
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;152457

I have been trying to post the same quest.
getting to POST option is as much a problem. if you get an answer
email me. thanks

the C drive >> Right click the Desktop, select New >>> Then select >>

Hi Will:

I too was bothered by the default pointing explorer.exe to My Documents.

My XP Home would not accept the change via "Go to Programs>Accessories,
right click on the Windows Explorer icon, select > Properties and type or
copy/paste the following into the 'Target:' box to ..."

However I was able to simply create a new XP Explorer Shortcut using
"%SystemRoot%\explorer.exe /e,c:"

Thank you for this tip!
