Windows Explorer

I'm repeating this post as I cant find/see the previous one I sent in
anywhere on the newsgroup and I've tried every sort freature - mystery. I
can find it if I search edit>find>my name, but not to view normally or to
see if there are any replies. Maybe someone can explain that problem too :-)

Anyway, here's the original repeated - hopefully it appears this time:

XP pro

Is there a way to set Win Explorer to show the number of files in a folder ?
I usually open folders and view the files by list.
