Hi,

Windows Explorer seems to be hogging much of the processor all the time, 50%
and up when I'm not doing anything with it. For a while I had the MSN
Toolbar installed and that was around when I started experiencing that, so I
uninstalled it, with no preceptible effect. I'm running WinXP Pro SP2.

Start with the normal virus/malware troubleshooting:

After you've done that and determined that the computer is 100%
virus/malware-free, if the problem persists do some clean-boot
