Can anyone tell me how to set up an icon on my desktop, that when I click on
it, it will load Windows Exploer.....in other words, a shortcut to Windows
Explorer without having to go through all the steps Start, Progams,
Acccesories, Windows Explorer.
Seems like I did this once before with something called a command line
prompt. Or something like that.
Thanks!

Click and drag the "Windows Explorer" Start Menu shortcut to the Desktop. Or, create a new shortcut for

explorer.exe /e, <path>

Customize the Windows Explorer Views in Windows XP:

Have Windows Explorer Default to the %SystemRoot% Drive When Started:

Also mc, once you have your shortcut on the desktop as Ramesh has explained
I like to drag it into the quick launch bar because I use it a lot. Then
you can delete the other one from desktop if it's still there. Another
thing I prefer is to have the 'C' drive open up rather than the default of
'My Computer'. You do this by right-clicking on Windows Explorer and
selecting Properties. Then edit the Target line to read "
%SystemRoot%\explorer.exe /e, c:\ " (without the quotes).
