Windows Explorer takes too long to load

I have a problem where opening Windows Explorer takes 30-40 seconds to load.
I recently did a clean install of XP and the problem still persists. It
happens with SP1 and SP2. Any ideas?

Using any USB devices, such as a camera card reader? Try leaving a card
IN the reader when you boot up.
