Windows explorer opens and immediately closes

What is causing this problem? I click on the desktop
icon for Windows Explorer and it opens and immediately
closes back to the desktop. I can get to the drives
clicking on My Computer.

This might be caused by a virus or malware, perform a free online scan

Try downloading, installing and updating the
spyware removers from the links below. Run both of them.

Was having this same problem. downloaded Ad-aware and the problem has
ceased.
