Hi,

When I select a hard drive for the first time in Windows Explorer it takes
up to 30 seconds to display the contents. Once I have waited the first time,
subsequent selections give an immediate response.

Any ideas?

Regards,

Robert

Cracked it - thank you.

I was sceptical at first as your first link suggested the selection of the
file and this was not the case. However it did apply and I fixed it by
moving the large backup files I had in the root of the drives to new
folders.

Robert
