I want to change the default opening Windows Explorer
view to the view that you get when you click on Folders
on the button bar, i.e., folders structure in the left
pannel and files and sub folders in the right pannel.
Help!

Open My Computer and click on Tools to Folder Options
Choose Windows Classic radio button under Tasks
Apply and OK

Hi

What View do you want WE to open with? What are you seeing when WE opens now? Try this:

With WE open go to View and then enable the setting you want. Then go to Tools>Folder Options>View and click on 'Apply to All Folders'. Restart WE.

Create a new shortcut and point it here:
C:\WINDOWS\explorer.exe

Explorer should now open with the folder tree on the left and the view pane

Bob,

Are you seeing Common Tasks or not? You didn't say. But that is what you
are looking for.
Windows Explorer/Tools/Folder Options/Show Common Tasks.... or Use Windows
Classic....
