windows explorer - changing the default folder ?

Hi,

when Windows Explorer opens up (in XP) the default folder that gets the
focus is My Documents. I want to change that so that one of my drives (or
subfolders) gets the focus when I open Windows Explorer.

Right click your Explorer shortcut, select the Shortcut
tab and edit the Target to read :-
%SystemRoot%\explorer.exe /e,C:\ (one space after .exe)
This will take you to C:\
similarly /e,C:\MyFavouriteFolder would take you to your
preferred folder.
