I have my computer set to automatically download and
install windows updates. Several months ago it did so and
after it install (whatever update it was) Windows Explorer
opens automatically when I boot up my computer. It
usually happens towards the end of all the stuff it is
loading. This is very annoying to have to close Windows
explorer down every time I boot my computer. What can I
do to stop it?

Programs that run upon startup are usually located in:

The "Startup" folder
[Start]
Programs
Startup

-or-

The "Run" key in the registry
- click [Start]
- click Run
- type regedit.exe
- press [Enter]
- goto HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
- look under the "Data" column for some form of
explorer.exe
- delete it
