Windows Error- ntosrkrnl.exe missing or corrupt.

Sony computer will not boot, System = XP Professional,
Error Reads:
"<windows root>\system32\ntoskrnl.exe is missing or
corrupt
please re-instal
How can I do this?

Basically the file is truly corrupt or missing and you have to restore a
good copy or your boot.ini file is incorrect. You will find repair
instructions on the following page. I would probably skip Method 1 and do
2, 3, and 4. After that you should be fine.
