Ok I just got xp a couple days ago (upgraded from 98
first edition) and when i play some games (bf1942
americas army splinter cell) They work fine (except for
the pop up thing) But when i play tribes 2 I can still
see the start bar and i get all of thoese system messages
(from the clock area. Is There a way i can set xp
to "disable" the desktop when i'm playing a game?

Hi Ted,

Are you being bothered by Windows Messenger Service?
To stop unwanted Windows Messages visit: http://www.stopmessengerspam.com
and pick XP from the list on the right for step by step instructions and diagrams
you can follow to rid yourself of those pesky popup messages.

I already fixed that but The start bar thing is still
visible and if i......... Bacissly i want it like 98.
When you open a game You can ONLY see the game but when
you open something else you can see the start bar(thing
with star on it)

Hi Ted,

Do you mean that the games are opening in "windowed" mode
instead of "full screen"? Pressing ALT+ENTER (or is it CTRL+
Enter) can usually switch between the two modes, however the
ideal is to set the game to be played Full Screen using the game's
video settings. Some games allow you to add a parameter to
the shortcut. Check the readme.txt files for more info if available.
