I was excited about Windows Defender because it is real-time protection,
free. However, I have had difficulty since loading it. First, while checking
my events I found that my User was not logging off properly because some
files held the registry open. So I checked with Microsoft, through searches,
and found the answer to be UPHClean, also by Microsoft. As it turns out
Windows Defender was holding the registry open. UPHClean fixed that. However,
now Word cannot register documents, and thus I can't link to them. Certainly
this is somehow linked to UPHClean. Has anyone else experienced this that can
take me to an end result that will solve all of it, before I begin the
uninstalls?

My bad... I found out that DCOM wasn't running. I believe I did it myself
while playing around. I'm still excited about Defender. Gonna reload Defender
and the clean tool and try again.
