Hi, I am seeing that there is alot of issues with reinstalling defender when
it was uninstalled.
I have tried this and it worked.
go to start, accessories, system tools and then to restore. The program will
allow you to return the system to a point before the uninstall. You will see
many restore points and the defender uninstall will show up. just go to the
restore point before the uninstall. I hope that it works for you guys. It
worked for me and defender is working normally.

its not possible... lol well it is but not from a novice..

she is probably using XP and installed defender

What makes you think that Windows Defender has been uninstalled? That is not
likely going to happen.

Go to start and type Defender in the search box. You should get an entry in
the top window. Click on it.

I am using VISTA and the restore does work. I accidently uninstalled it. read
the other posts I am not the only one that has done this. It is possible to
uninstall it.

just to let all of you know it can be uninstalled and it has happend to me
also. i tried to insall one-care and it instructed me to uninstall defender.
it will uninstall if you dont believe me try it. now my vista is all messed
up.

Windows Live One Care does not uninstall, or require you to uninstall Defender,
it only disables it as Defender's capabilities are built into One Care.
