Windows Defender CID dependency? Error 0x80004003?

We are currently running defender on a rather large network. Our PC's are
built by means of disk imaging, using ghost and the sysprep utility to renew
CID's. After running sysprep defender returns Error 0x80004003 when
attempting to run a scan.

Is this issue related to a CID dependency in defender? Is there a CID sync
tool for defender if this is the case? or am i barking up the wrong tree?

Hello J,

The workaround is to do the scan via the menu choices, rather than using
the button.

But it may be fixed in build ..1347.
