In Vista - Windows Mail and other Windows also, I keep getting asked to
confirm my action....how do I turn this function off ?

That would be User Account Control (UAC) and Microsoft would prefer you
leave it on as a security measure. If you wnat to turn it off in spite of
this, 'Control Panel|User Accounts', click the "Turn User Account Control on
or off" link.

Hasn't done the job...I still get ask for confirmation to delete an email for
example. Can you help?

Are you talking about deleting an email message from inside Windows Mail?
It should only ask for a confirmation if you are deleting from the Deleted Items
folder.
