All I wanted was Hyperterminal.

I cannnot believe the BS I am getting trying to fix Microsoft's problem.
They say to call HP and HP gives me the run around. How about just letting
us have the fix. I took off SP 2 but it is still broke.

I followed the link in the above KB article but it did not work on my
machine. Appears it was wrote for 2000. No Security and Configuration
snap-in on my computer.

It just doesnt seem right that MS breaks my computer and I have to pay them
to fix it.

You want Hyperterminal?

Download and install "Hyperterminal Private Edition" which is an upgrade
to the program included with XP.

I had no problems adding hyperterminal with my retail version of XP.
I opened control panel then opened Add&remove and from there went to add and
remove windows componenets.....all went well.
What exactly is your problem??? where are you getting stuck??

I appreciate the link. And now I do have Hyperterminal, however, I still
cannot install other windows components. Still broke, and I guess MS wants
the $35 for the help to fix what they know SP2 broke. I assume it is
because I have wireless networking.
