Have XP - Outlook Express - Microsoft Excel - 256 Mg RAM
When I have an email with an Excel file attached, I click on the attachment,
Excel opens but the file does not download. The message is that Windows
cannot find the temporary file. This has been happening about two months,
since I upgraded to Adobe Acrobat 7.5.

I can download other attachments. Seems the problem is always with Excel
files. Also, if the file was sent to me and another person, that person has
no trouble opening the file.

select the attachment file. rt click on it. is there a menu for "open with"?
How about saving file to HDD? then opening by clicking on it or open excel
and then opening file.

I have heard some people having problem with latest update from Adobe.
Although I don't know how it is related.

This is an Excel file, right?

Thanks a lot, but it didn't work. I tried it. The file is an Excel file
The name of the file is coopy of Katy #1 11 03 05.xls
I can open all kinds of attachments but NOT ANY Excel file that is an
attachment.

Thanks again. J

only message you get is "can't find temporary file"?

do you have problem with other Excel files or only attachments?

Did you try to save as with different file name?

Another person sent me a small EXCEL file this week as an email attachment. I
cannot download that either.

If I called Microsoft would they be able to help me? Thanks a lot. Jenny

I just did a Detect and Repair for the fifth time. It does not work.
If I go to My Documents and double click on an Excel file - Excel won't open
that either, so I must have something wrong in Excel. Thanks a lot. jh

go to My computer/explorer. select then rt click on any excel file.
choose "open with"!!

what does is default program to open xls file?
If not Excel, choose open with Excel.
