Is there a way to color code different appointments different colors as in
Outlook

The calendar doesn't use catagories like Outlook's calendar function does.
The only way to do what you want is to create separate calendars for each
type of appointment, and colour them. They all chow on the same calendar
display, and it works pretty well in most cases. Hope this helps.

I just got hold of Windows Vista and this is what I finally figured out to do:

Open the Calendar program
Create a new GROUP called "windrose's calendar"
Create a new CALENDAR called "personal"
Add all your personal appointments to the "personal calendar" and choose one
colour for all these.
Create another CALENDAR/CALENDARS for "work"/"birthdays"/ "errands"/
"meetings" or whatever categories you want - one calendar with a unique
colour for the appointments in each one for each category that you want.
Drag and drop all the calendars listed in the middle panel on the left hand
side and put them into the group called "windrose's calendar".

What you will see in the main screen is the overview of all the calendars in
one big one with different colours for each category/type of appointments.
When printing - print out a group rather than a specific calendar to get all
the colours and appointments.

Hope that helps.
