windows backup utility not working

I tried to run through the backup of the whole system using the windows
backup utility but when I tried to create a boot disk and then told the
program to run through the backup it said that it couldnt create the files
needed for the recovery diskette, is this because the system is NTFS? Or
what would cause this?

It is the second one Wes, but I dont understand the resolution, what the
hell is ftonline.exe what the hell is a ftset and how do i back it up,
totally mystified Help!!!!!!
